Emily grew up overseas in the Netherlands (and a few other places around the world), and Michael is a California native.  They met while attending college, and I imagine it was love at first sight for them.  Such a beautiful couple!  They are both so sweet.  Just really concerned about each other’s well-being and happiness.  THAT is a marriage that will stand the test of time.  From a family and marriage class that I took in college, the teacher stressed EVERY class that if each person is a marriage is “other’s-centered”, it is sure to be a successful AND happy marriage.  That has stuck with me over the last 12 years or so.  And I really enjoy seeing that quality in the couples I get to photograph!

Emily’s wedding was a DIY wedding.  I was absolutely floored that her mom AND her dad made the bouquet, flower head wreath and cake.  So beautiful.  And they had never done any of those things!

Emily and Michael, like in the movie “Up”, have dreams to travel the world together!  “Adventure is Out There” for them for sure!
