I can’t even begin to describe what a fabulous wedding weekend I spent with Katie, Kyle and their families in San Diego! They didn’t treat me like “just the photographer”, certainly more like a friend who had been in their lives forever. It was a wedding I will never forget! Katie and Kyle and the most gracious and kind couple! I was seriously about to jump in all her bridesmaids photos because that’s how much I loved the girl! They both have such a wonderful support system in their family and friends–it was so beautiful to witness.
We started out photographing Katie and Kyle on a Friday night at the LDS San Diego Temple for their “first look” photos and intimates. The sun was setting and the weather was just right! Katie and Kyle both looked like they were ready to shoot for a bridal magazine. We stayed the night, and early the next morning got some beautiful shots of Katie and her besties getting ready for the perfect day! And it was! Sunny and warm but not too hot! I’m telling you it was ideal!
After the ceremony and more photos we devoured mizithra cheese and meat sauce over spaghetti at the Old Spaghetti Factory in downtown San Diego. We got to finish up intimates downtown and it was such a blast. You wouldn’t believe all kind people that participated in the excitement! Tourists on buses yelled out their windows all together, “Congratulations!” One lady that came out and helped Katie figure out how to keep her vail on. Everyone we walked passed commented on their beauty and congratulated them. The candy store sales clerk let us take photos in the candy store and was even in a photo of the bride and groom paying for their candy! One couple asked if they were actual models for a bridal magazine. (They certainly could be!) And we even stopped traffic in the middle of the street to get a photo of them kissing under the Gaslamp Quarter sign! Nobody cared! They got another cheer from another tour bus!
The next evening was such a beautiful reception. Cindy and Donna’s Catering does the most amazing job at all the events I shoot at! Their set up is gorgeous and their food is to die for. And you can’t beat their price. Now to show off their gorgeous photos–enjoy!
